Maui Hawaii $1000 hotel vs $275 night budget Condo what do you prefer?

Went to Maui and got to stay at a luxury hotel that has rooms from $600 to $1000 a night (AC Hotel by Marriott)
Then went to a Condo on another part of the island that runs from about $250 to $300 night.
There is a huge difference in a few thing, pros and cons to each. What you do like to stay in when you travel?
