Join us in episode 3 of our Japan travel series as I take the bullet train from Tokyo to the mountainous prefecture of Nagano. See the incredible scenery zoom by out the window as we ride the shinkansen to reach Nagano in just an hour and forty minutes. Once arrived in Nagano, we'll head straight for Zenko-ji, a Buddhist temple that is one of the most famous landmarks in Japan. This ancient temple was built over 1400 years ago and welcomes millions of visitors every year. We'll take in the ornate wooden architecture and see the massive main hall. After touring the grounds of Zenko-ji, we'll explore more of what Nagano City has to offer. We'll make our way through quaint streets lined with traditional houses and stop at cozy cafes and shops along the way. Get a taste of daily life in regional Japan away from the big city. From Taking in Nagano's natural beauty to experiencing ancient history at Zenko-ji, this leg of our Japan trip shows a different side of Japanese culture and architecture.
