Copy of Maui Alert Questions Council Member About Accountability in Lahaina Fire

Maui Alert questions council member Tamara Paltin about whether she regrets failing to be more pro-active following the 2018 Lahaina fire. That fire nearly destroyed Lahaina. Residents at a town hall meeting Paltin attended following the fire erupted in frustration. They expressed concerns about dry fire hydrants, no cell phone warnings, no sirens and more in 2018. Paltin answered the question, saying she had talks with various officials since then, but stopped short of saying she regretted failing to do more.
