The best beach to learn to surf in Hawaii - White Plains Beach

Lisa and I have been wanting to learn how to surf for a very long time, and truthfully, I'm not sure why we waited so long. I think we were just scared of running into somebody else on our boards, or falling over and getting hit by our own board... or all sorts of other super unlikely scary things that could happen :)

We wanted to find somewhere a bit outside of the normal super-busy Waikiki to learn how to surf, and White Plains Beach turned out to be the perfect place to go. We do think this is the best beach on the island to learn how to surf, but only if you can get someone to teach you out there.
