Teaching my 5 Year Old to Surf // Living in Hawaii Episode 123

Hailey has been terrified of waves and putting her head under the water. Not a good combination to teach her to surf - but Hailey really wanted to surf. Probably because she watches her sister surf on the weekends. We took months building up to this moment and I am happy we did. It was a magical moment for our family. Probably in the top ten moments that I hope I will remember for the rest of my life.

We moved to Hawaii almost 9 months ago and we have fallen in love with the ocean. It was a matter of time before Hailey tried surfing. If you enjoyed our video please consider giving us a thumbs up! Mahalo!

🪖 If you new to our channel, we are a military family stationed in Hawaii for the next few years. John, my husband, re-enlisted in the military after being out for ten years. Kind of crazy. But John was a Marine and he loved the Marines. Afghanistan Veteran. The only reason he got out was for me. Back before online jobs or school, he gave up the Marines and allowed me to start my career. I had an amazing career spending years growing and working with Target as a Store Director. But with Covid came many changes. One of those was the desire to stay home and homeschool Alexandra and Hailey. And so it opened the door for John to do whatever he wanted to do. He re-enlisted, but this time we both agreed the Army. After being out so long, John had to go through Basic training again or OSUT. Six months of that followed by waiting for command sponsorship for our first OCONUS move and the family has been apart for 10 months. Crazy considering this wasn't a deployment. But we made it! We are now stationed at Schofield Barracks in Hawaii for the next 2 to 3 years and feel truly blessed to be here!
