If you own a home on Hawaii Island and use it for short term vacation rentals, you need to watch this video as we discuss a new County led initiative that is looking to curb your ability to do short term rentals.

We are wearing Santa hats in this picture, because we bring valuable info as your gift for Christmas!

Lance Owens, past President of the West Hawaii Association of REALTORS and current second vice president to the Hawaii Association of Realtors, discusses the impact the new TAR will have on homeowners and future homeowners.

Below is the link to the recorded presentation given yesterday by Hawaii County Council members Ashley Kierkiewicz and Heather Kimball. The presentation is in regards to a proposed bill that would overhaul the existing STVR ordinance we have, including regulation of "Hosted" vacation rentals that are currently unregulated.

Also included are links to the actual proposed ordinance / bill, and a comment section.

Please watch/listen to the recording, and review the document to make yourself familiar with these proposed changes.
