Jerome Powell of the Federal Reserve gave a speech last week and gave indications of a potential fed pivot taking place which would potentially cancel the housing market crash in 2023.

Ever since the Housing Bubble popped at the start of the summer we've been seemingly headed towards a real estate crash as mortgage rates have surged to over 7.3% at one point in October. Well according to the latest housing market news, things are cooling down, rates have dropped 1% and a big reason for this is many investors are expecting a fed u-turn to be coming sooner than later. Now many experts are starting to share their housing market predictions that there may not be a housing crash coming after all. In my real estate market forecast, I believe it all comes down to what inflation data continues to show. If we keep winning this war on inflation then a housing market collapse is unlikely to happen in 2023. In order to see house prices crash we need housing affordability to get worse than where it is right now. We need to see mortgage interest rates hit the 8's or even the 9's to see a nationwide property crash. So will the housing market crash? We won't know until we get more updated information on the economy. What we do know is things have changed now since the days when the housing market bubble first popped. Inflation back then was running hot at 9.1% but now is down to 7.7%. Over that span of time we have seen a housing market correction to the tune of a 9% decline in prices nationwide which is still a pretty significant real estate market correction. So although many experts are giving their housing market forecast, in reality we are just guessing at this point until we find out the what is going on with inflation and how the fed plans to react to it.
