Remembering Pearl Harbor 81 Years Later #wwii

Today marks 81 years since the Japanese launched their surprise attack on Pearl Harbor. This attack killed 2,403 U.S. personnel, including 68 civilians, and marked the official start of U.S. involvement in the war which had been raging on overseas. It is important for us to remember not only the tragic losses that this day brought, but also the extreme bravery and heroism shown by the US military personnel and local civilians who were caught up in this unexpected attack. It would take over 3 1/2 years and countless more deaths before peace was restored between the two countries.
