In today's video we take you along to Pearl Harbor Historic Historic Sites in Honolulu Hawaii, this is the scene of the fateful attack on the US Military in 1941 that brought the USA into World War 2.

To note as you enter you're not allowed to take any bags into the site, these must be left in your car or a locker purchased. Medical bags or clear bags may be allowed.

As we enter we purchased the Pearl Harbor Passport, a ticket that's advertised as a see everything pass of the complex, this allowed us access to USS Missouri, Aviation Museum, Pacific Fleet Submarine Museum and the Virtual Reality Centre (more of a small stand in the entrance, not worth it)

Our first stop was to the USS Missouri where we had to take a short 10 minute shuttle to get there due to the distance from the entrance and security reasons. The USS Missouri is the last battleship commissioned by the USA. Now stationed at Pearl Harbor having first entered service in 1944, we're given the ability to step aboard this monstrous ship and walk around the inside and see how the crew would have lived during their time on board. A lot of the ship is fully accessible to tourists now, giving us a great insight into the past. We're also able to walk along the deck and witness where the peace treaty surrender was signed by the Japanese and US Military in 1945 to end to war on this front. From the deck of the Missouri you can see the USS Arizona Memorial, this is a memorial to the fallen on the Arizona as it was struck and sunk in Pearl Harbor, the ship still lays in the bay now. To access the memorial you have to queue at the main entrance.

Our next stop is the Aviation Museum, here we get the chance to learn more about the attack on Pearl Harbor and the USA response to the attack, how this was carried out and what went into the mission, we also see a number of the planes used and how they were altered to meet the needs of the mission.

Our final stop is the Pacific Fleet Submarine Museum, this was a fascinating in depth look at life on a submarine, what it would have been like for the crew and how the submarine was managed, it also walks you through the history of some of the missions that the crew had at the time. At the time we went the main attraction the USS Bowfin was in routine maintenance however the ticket was not discounted to reflect this. This was a glaring omission for our day.

Stay tuned for my wrap up at the end to see the thoughts and feelings after the day.

Enjoy!
